The Amalfi Coast stretches fifty kilometres along the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula (most famous for the town of Sorrento), and is one of the most stunning scenes in Europe. Charming whitewash villas nestle delicately on the sharp slopes: fragrant lemon grove adorned cliffs slope dramatically into the glistening waters. Today the Amalfi Coast is one of Italy’s top tourist destinations for business and leisure jet setters.
DAY 1
HOTEL & ARRIVAL
Your hotel is located within 10 minutes from Sorrento Downtown, in a prime position boasting panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast line and stunning hill side. Guests are able to enjoy their free time on the tennis court, in the fitness centre, or in any of the hotel’s numerous outdoor and indoor pools. Bright and well-equipped guest rooms feature ample work-space, an extensive array of amenities, and high-speed internet access to ensure you stay in touch.
After arrivals and check-in, guests can look forward to a delicious Welcome Dinner. Boasting superb views of the pool and the Bay of Naples, the restaurant comes alive with warm tones, wood floors and red coral murals. Savour seafood specialities such as smoked swordfish with parmesan or shrimp risotto, before retreating to the lounge for after dinner drinks.
DAY 2
DISCOVERING SORRENTO WITH LIMONCELLO & MOZZARELLA TASTING
For an enjoyable light afternoon activity guests will take part in a guided walk through Sorrento’s ancient winding streets and learn some of the history behind its churches and the town itself. You will then drive from Sorrento to reach the other side of the Peninsula, passing through the beautiful coastal village of Santa Agata with each twist and turn offering new and breathtaking views of the Italian Riviera. The farm offers a fabulous view of the Gulf of Naples. Here oranges, lemons, olives and wine are farmed using methods dating back 1,200 years. Taste Limoncello liquor, made by a local lemon producer, as well as the very tasty Fresh Mozzarella, both typical from this region.
DINNER
A historical restaurant in Sorrento makes a truly unique setting for dinner, with history and great taste. Facing onto the splendid gardens, you will enjoy taking time to discover the mouth-watering dishes of the Mediterranean.
DAY 3
EXCURSION TO POMPEI
Guests will enjoy breakfast within the hotel followed by departure by executive coach transfer to the fascinating ruins of Pompei. Guests will travel back in history to explore one of the world’s most famous volcano disasters. Ever since Pliny the Younger described the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79, the city has been studied in books, scholarly tomes and many documentaries and films. This fascinating ancient city is a site not to be missed during any visit to this part of Italy.
LUNCH AT A PASTA FACTORY
Lunchtime will see you and your guests visiting the pasta factory which launched, at the beginning of 1800, the format of the famous “macaroni” pasta. The factory is among the oldest in the town, and well known throughout the world for the production of pasta.
DINNER
Located in the heart of Sorrento, your restaurant for this evening’s dinner is the ideal place for those in search of good food and warm atmosphere, enhanced by a collection of hand-painted ceramics. The restaurant offers a wide choice of dishes from the traditional cuisine enriched by a good Neapolitan pizza.
DAY 4
POSITANO EXCURSION AND DEPARTURES
Guests will wake up to enjoy their last morning by indulging in breakfast within the hotel. At leisure, guests will checkout of the hotel and leave their bags within a secured area. A coach will then transfer you to Positano to explore the breath-taking sites of the area, one of the most beautiful valleys of the Amalfi Coast that opens on a magnificent stretch of coastline.
Positano has a very glamorous side to it – this is just one of the many reasons why tourists from all over the world flock to its pathways and boutiques each summer. A fantastic lunch with be enjoyed at a restaurant which sits alongside the famous beach of Positano, offering a selection of Southern Italian recipes with a modern twist. After lunch, guests will depart for their departure flight back to London.
